Synopsis
Is murder justified if someone is trying to kill you?
Tourists visit the Cayman Islands to lose themselves in the aqua surf, but Katie came to hide. She fled Chicago two months earlier from her lover, who tried to kill her after she discovered his criminal career. By day, Katie works as director of a plastic surgery medical resort owned by her best friend from med school. By night, she scours internet crime sites, piecing together evidence to convict her lover and win back her life as a physician.
Then the man she loved shows up at the clinic. Terrified to glimpse him, Katie is only partly relieved when she learns he was dropping off a teenage girl for medical attention, because it means he’ll be back. The new patient is his niece, who blames him for her injuries. She may be Katie’s key to putting him behind bars. But as the resentful girl reveals who her family really is, Katie is chilled to realize that her enemy is bigger than one guy with a gun, and the Hippocratic oath to do no harm no longer applies.
