Welcome Friends!

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that you’re letting me into your life a little. I’m a suspense writer living in Coronado, California. When I’m not writing, I’m with friends or boating with my husband, Dave. I like to think I’m a better writer than I am a sailor!

I hope you snagged a free copy of my short story. In The Eavesdrop, young girls are being abducted without a trace throughout Violet’s San Francisco neighborhood. Cars have been following when her mom drives her to school, and she’s spotted them outside her home. Her parents are concerned, but not enough. When she finally takes matters into her own hands and contacts the FBI, she learns more than she really wanted to.

If you haven’t yet received your copy, get it here.

Suspense is my favorite genre because it lets me sink into the character and their world before things start going awry. One of the most intriguing components of the genre is the trope of the hidden identity. It creates an inherent loneliness colliding with the strain of being discovered. It’s the perfect forum for revealing the individual’s values and challenging their morals. Here, I’ll explore a few favorites.

First Lie Wins

Ashley Elston’s character, Evie Porter has many secrets, among them, her name. When she learns there’s a real Evie Porter out there, everything she’s been covering up is minor compared to the new threat.

Too Late

Colleen Hoover’s 2023 edition of this romance suspense explores several types of hidden identity: physical, emotional, and social. Undercover DEA agent Luke wins the trust of a woman caught in a deadly relationship to take down a charming but deadly drug dealer.

The Maid

Nita Prose places us in a hotel where maid Molly Gray discovers a body and becomes the crime’s main suspect. Within the hotel are an assortment of guests protecting secrets, including their background and criminal identity.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

I cannot complete this article without mentioning Patricia Highsmith’s remarkable story about psychopathic Ripley, who takes on the persona of the friend he kills to assume his privileged lifestyle.
